The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of the leading universities in world, within the Top 100 worldwide and the top university in Germany. The Chair of Biomolecular NMR Spectroscopy, headed by Michael Sattler, is member of the Bavarian NMR Center and combines NMR with integrated structural biology and structure-based drug discovery to understand molecular mechanisms of cellular and disease-linked pathways.

TUM organized and participated in several Marie Curie ITNs and Excellence Grants. M. Sattler participated in various European Research Networks and hosts Marie-Curie Training Fellow, EMBO and Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellows. He is co-organizer of a biannual EMBO Training Course on biomolecular NMR and international graduate training courses on NMR. M. Sattler is member the TUM Graduate Center and the Graduiertenkolleg GRK1721 “Integrated Structural Biology”. He is member of the executive board of the Cluster of Excellence Center for integrated Protein Science Munich (CiPSM) and the DFG SFB 1035 Control of protein function by conformational switches.
