The Department of Life Sciences (www.dsv.unimore.it) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (www.unimore.it) is hosted in a new building located in the Scientific Campus. The department hosts an extended network of laboratories, with over 120 academic staff, 40 technicians and several postdoctoral researchers committed to basic and translational research in the fields of chemistry, biology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research.
The studies within this project will be performed in the Molecular Modelling & Drug Design Lab (www.mmddlab.unimore.it). Research activities focus on the development and application of computational methods for drug design. Among others, these include methods for structure-based drug design and prediction of protein-ligand interactions, molecular dynamics, docking and virtual screening. In addition, we are leading drug discovery projects in the area of cancer.
